EU Council of Ministers adopts decision to promote security of Jewish communities in Europe and to combat anti-Semitsm

    The EU Council of Ministers adopted today (6.12) a groundbreaking decision to promote the security of Jewish communities throughout Europe and to intensify the struggle against anti-Semitism. . 
    Praise should be given to the Austrian Presidency, the Council of Ministers, and to the Jewish organizations.
    The most significant implications of the decision: 
    • Promoting the security of Jewish communities in Europe and the investment of resources by the countries to bolster the protection of Jewish communities. 
    • Intensifying the fight against dangerous anti-Semitic discourse in the online sphere.  
    • Calling upon EU countries which have not yet adopted the IHRA's definition of anti-Semitism to adopt the definition. The definition defines anti-Semitism and includes the denial of the right of Jews to self-determination or the use of a double standard in criticism of Israel as a form of anti-Semitism.​
