PM Netanyahu meets with Nauru President Baron Waqa

    Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, this morning (Monday, 12 June 2017), met with Nauru President Baron Waqa.
    Nauru has friendly relations with the State of Israel. President Waqa asked Prime Minister Netanyahu that Israel will assist his country in medical training, water, waste management and innovation.
    Prime Minister Netanyahu said, "You have been our wonderful friend. It's a pleasure to receive you in the land of Israel and the State of Israel. And I hope you have an excellent visit that reflects our excellent relations."

    President Waqa met in Jerusalem with President Rivlin, visited Yad Vashem: World Holocaust Center, Jerusalem and planted a tree at the Grove of Nations near Mt. Herzl.

    President Waqa told President Rivlin: “We have traveled a long way from Nauru, but I am very pleased to be here. I want to show our solidarity to Israel and the people of Israel.”
