We will fight this terrorism. It does not need a reason; the reason is our existence, our very being there and no other reason. We have witnessed many incidents over the years and we will continue to fight terrorism.

Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu today (Sunday, 10 December 2017), met at the Élysée Palace in Paris with French President Emmanuel Macron.

Following are excerpts from PM Netanyahu's remarks at the joint press conference (all remarks translated from the Hebrew):

    On the terror tunnel:

"We are on the right path. We are developing unprecedented pioneering technologies and we will continue on this path. The work is not yet finished but there is no doubt that we are on the right path and we will continue on it."

On the terrorist attack in Jerusalem:

"I send wishes for a full recovery. We will fight this terrorism. It does not need a reason; the reason is our existence, our very being there and no other reason. We have witnessed many incidents over the years and we will continue to fight terrorism."

    On Erdogan's remarks:

"Erdogan should not preach to us; he bombs Kurdish villages in Turkey, imprisons journalists, helps Iran evade international sanctions and helps terrorists attack innocents in Gaza and other places."
