The Government of Israel congratulates the Government of Norway, under the leadership of Erna Solberg, for its unequivocal struggle against antisemitism. In a comparison between a far-reaching survey of public opinion in Norway conducted in 2011 and a similar survey whose results were recently published, there is a markedly positive trend of improvement.

Unfortunately, the struggle for the elimination of anti-Semitism and racism against Jews is far from complete. This is a continuous and unrelenting struggle. In this regard, the State of Israel would appreciate the Government of Norway formally adopting the definition of anti-Semitism as it was unilaterally accepted in 2016 by 31 countries of the IHRA, in which Norway is also a member state.
