    (Communicated by the MFA Spokesperson)

Due to the state of emergency declared in Florida in anticipation of Hurricane Irma, and following the call by Florida Governor Rick Scott and Miami Beach Mayor Philip Levine to evacuate areas in the hurricane’s path, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs has decided to evacuate all Israeli emissaries and their families from Miami until the storm has passed and the authorities permit residents to return to their homes.

In light of this, the Consulate General of Israel in Miami will be closed until further notice. We call upon all Israelis in the area to heed the instructions of the authorities in the area and to act accordingly.

The Consulate General in Miami has established emergency hotlines, which may be used to establish contact in the event of storm-related difficulties or emergencies:

    +1-305-469-4466
    +1 (786) 663-3780

The MFA reiterates that Israelis residing in the Miami area must obey all directives by the authorities.
