    Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, this morning (Monday, 14 March 2016), met with Ghanaian Minister of Foreign Affairs and Regional Integration Hanna Tetteh. He welcomed the relationship between the two countries and their common values of democracy and the rule of law.
     
    The two discussed deepening both bilateral security cooperation, especially the fight against Islamic terrorism, and civilian-economic cooperation.
     
    Prime Minister Netanyahu noted Israel's leadership in agrotechnology and water engineering which could help in meeting Ghana's development needs. He emphasized that Israel ascribes great importance to relations with Africa and noted that most African countries are interested in enhancing relations with Israel. The Prime Minister expressed Israel's expectation of continued change in voting patterns at the UN in light of anti-Israel decisions in international bodies.
     
    Prime Minister Netanyahu will visit several African countries this summer; this will be the first visit by an Israeli Prime Minister to Africa in two decades.
