PM Netanyahu meets with ECOWAS President de Souza in Jerusalem

    The meeting focused on a range of subjects, specifically on an invitation for ministers of agriculture of ECOWAS member states to visit Israel and an invitation to PM Netanyahu to address an upcoming summit meeting of ECOWAS.

    ​Continuing his diplomatic momentum in Africa and following his visit to four African nations in early July, Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs, Binyamin Netanyahu, met today (Thursday, 28th July 2016) with the President of the Economic Community of West African States (ECOWAS), Marcel Alain de Souza.

    This is the first meeting between the Prime Minister and the President of this important organization of fifteen member states, which in addition to economic cooperation  also deals with regional security issues.

    The meeting focused on a range of subjects and specifically an invitation for ministers of agriculture of the member states of ECOWAS to visit Israel this year and an invitation to the Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs to address an upcoming summit meeting of ECOWAS.
