President Rivlin meets with Polish FM Grzegorz Schetyna

    President Reuven Rivlin this morning (Sunday 14 June 2015) at his residence, held a working meeting with Polish Foreign Minister Grzegorz Schetyna, during which they spoke about strengthening the cooperation and good relations between Israel and Poland.
     
    The President welcomed the Foreign Minister and noted that the first visit he had made abroad as President of Israel, was to the inauguration of the Jewish Museum in Warsaw.  He said, “The opening of the museum is an important moment in the history of Poland and the Jewish people”.  The President asked the Foreign Minister to convey his warm greetings to the Prime Minister and both the President elect, and the outgoing President of Poland, who he noted were great friends of the State of Israel.  The President added, “We are seeing how the successful partnership and cooperation between us, is of great benefit to both our peoples, about which I am delighted.”
     
    The Foreign Minister thanked the President for his welcome, and said, “During my visit I want to strengthen the cooperation between our countries. This is not just words, we are seeing much joint cooperation in a number of fields, and we brought with us on this visit over 100 Polish business leaders who are today at a conference in Haifa, and will tomorrow be in Tel Aviv.”  He concluded, “We will continue to work to increase the good relations between our two peoples.”
