In the framework of
UK Prime Minister David Cameron's recent visit to Israel, a
memorandum of understanding was signed on digital cooperation between the two countries.
The MOU was signed by Prime Minister's Office Director General Harel Locker and UK Chief Technology Officer Liam Maxwell.
In the framework of the MOU, Israel will join the D8 group of advanced digital countries currently being established at the initiative of the British government and which constitutes a platform for the exchange of knowledge and for cooperation in digital programs. South Korea, New Zealand, Estonia and Singapore are among the members of the group.
Great Britain is considered one of the world's leading nations in providing digital government services to citizens. The
Government Digital Service unit is the responsible agency.
