Regarding the Palestinian issue, a solution will be found only as a result of direct negotiations between the parties. External political decisions and unilateral recognition will only sabotage the possibility of achieving a solution.

(Communicated by the Foreign Minister’s Bureau)
Foreign Minister Avigdor Liberman met today (Wednesday, October 15 2014) in Rome with Italian Foreign Minister and EU High Representative-designate for Foreign Policy Federica Mogherini.
At the meeting, the two ministers reviewed the situation in the Middle East with emphasis on the Iranian nuclear threat, the Palestinian issue and radical Islam. FM Lieberman stressed the need to combat the ISIS threat, which, due to the danger posed by thousands of returning ISIS militants, poses a threat to Europe as well.
With regard to the Palestinian issue, FM Liberman noted that a solution will be found only as a result of direct negotiations between the parties.  External political decisions and unilateral recognition, unrelated to the negotiations, will only sabotage the possibility of achieving a solution.
