Tel Aviv is famous world-wide for its gay scene. The city was named Best Gay City in a survey conducted by GayCities in 2011 and ranked one of the top gay honeymoon destinations in CNN and Business Insider. The LGBT community in Tel Aviv is the largest in Israel and consist of 15% of Tel Aviv’s residences. The annual Pride Parade is expected to attract a record number of 120,000 participants from Israel and around the world.

The Pride Parade will be kicked off on Friday, June 13, 2014 from Meir Park. A Pride happening will begin at 10:00, followed by the launch of the Parade at 13:00 by Mayor Ron Huldai. The Parade has a new route this year, passing through Bugrashov Ben-Yehuda and Frishman Streets and the Tel Aviv promenade, ending in a huge party at a new location: Charles Clore Park. The party will include leading artists, the 2014 Tolerance Award, and will also feature for the first time a stage for children, this due to the increase in young LGBT families in the Tel Aviv community.

The signature party will be hosted by leading Hollywood star Moran Atias, while the lead artist is Dana International. Additional DJ sets by FFF, DRECK, Arisa, 3S0ME, Forever, Evita and more.

The Tel Aviv-Yafo Municipality allocates many resources to promoting and supporting the gay community, through the Gay Community Center and the Pride Week events. In the last few years Tel Aviv has significantly deepened its investments to promote gay tourism to the city, while an estimated number of 30,000 tourists are expected to arrive to Tel Aviv to take part in the pride events across the city.

Ron Huldai, the Mayor of Tel Aviv-Yafo: The City of Tel Aviv-Yafo stands for equality, believes in equality and marches for equality. This year, as every year, we are blessed with our city being the Israeli center of equality, pluralism and a beacon of freedom to other cities.
