The Rio 2016 Paralympic Games will be held between September 7 to September 18 2016 using the same facilities and under the same organizing committee as the Rio 2016 Olympics.
The athletes will begin to arrive in Rio on August 30 and will stay in the Olympic Village. The entire Israeli delegation will reach Rio by September 5, two days before the start of the Games.
The Israeli delegation to the Paralympic Games is comprised of a total of 30 athletes (15 women and 15 men) who will be competing in 11 sports categories. In total, 4,350 athletes from 178 countries competing in 23 categories will participate in the 2016 Paralympic Games.

"I am proud of our athletes and I'm sure they are ready and have a strong desire to represent their country in the best way. We have a great team, determined and talented," says Dani Ben Abu, Chairperson of the Israeli National Paralympic Committee and head of the delegation to Rio. "I'm sure that the competition will not be easy and there will be challenges. I wish you all success in the Games and hope that Rio is, for you, a sports-related, social and cultural experience, forever remaining in your memories".
