Drinks International Magazine this month announced the World's 50 Best Bar Awards and the Imperial Craft Cocktail Bar in Tel Aviv was voted the Best Bar in Africa and the Middle East. The list was created by over 330 of the drinks industry's international experts and is seen as the ultimate guide to the top bars around the world.
The
Imperial Craft Cocktail Bar, usually referred to as
just "The Imperial", was opened in January 2013 by five veteran bartenders and resembles an officers' club or a European-owned hotel in India or Vietnam. The bar, which serves 150 custom-tailored specialty cocktails, is located on the famous beachside main road, Hayarkon Street. Drinks International stated that the Imperial Craft Cocktail Bar "outranked every bar from its region, including those in cocktail hotspots Dubai and South Africa. Tel Aviv has a growing, ebullient nightlife but this craft cocktail bar is one of the first to go deep and geeky into its drinks."
