Come summer, Jerusalemites schlep their flip-flops, sunscreen and sand toys to Tel Aviv or one of Israel’s other Mediterranean shore cities. But in the summer of 2014, that was no longer necessary.

"It's bringing a new adventure for families and young people in Jerusalem," says Hadas Vaanunu, producer of the Jerusalem Beach created adjacent to the popular new First Station entertainment and leisure venue.
