    The first place many return tourists to Jerusalem stop for a bite is Marzipan Bakery, whose gooey chocolate rugelach - a crescent -shaped pastry made by rolling a triangle of dough around a filling - are famous far and wide.

    Marzipan offers lots of other sweet treats too, of course. But it was probably this well-known specialty item that helped it grow from one stall in the Machane Yehuda market to two, in addition to branches in Jerusalem’s German Colony and Old City.
