Israel's
Minister for Social Equality, Gila Gamliel
, delivered remarks at the UN Security Council debate on Women, Peace and Security, and called on the Council to break its silence on the spate of violent attacks carried out against Israelis:
"In recent weeks, Israel has been rocked by a
spate of violent attacks, stabbings, car bombs and firebombs
. Men, women, children, and even infants are targeted as they walk the streets, or on their way home from prayer. We would expect to hear loud condemnation of such violence. But when it comes to terror attacks on Israelis, the international community, and this Council, seem to lose their voice."
