    H.E. Mr. Gary Francis Quinlan
    President of the Security Council
    United Nations
    New York

    Excellency,

I write to draw your attention to the most recent acts of terrorism targeting Israeli civilians. Yesterday, an IDF soldier was stabbed and killed outside a Tel Aviv bus station. Hours later, a young woman was murdered and two others were injured in a separate stabbing attack south of Jerusalem.

In the past two and a half weeks, the Israeli people have seen a severe escalation in terrorist attacks, with six killed and dozens injured in five separate attacks. The Security Council has yet to condemn any of these incidents. I remind the Council that in addition to the personal tragedy, every terrorist act can have far-reaching consequences.

This is exactly what the Palestinian leadership has in mind. Every day it is adding fuel to the fire by glorifying terrorists and celebrating attacks. The cartoons on the accompanying page appeared on President Abbas's Fatah party's official Facebook pages. One cartoon urges people to "Hit the gas at 199 [km/h] for Al-Aqsa."  The second, "The National Liberation Movement - Fatah," shows a car trying to ram into three fleeing Jews.

Complacency breeds catastrophe and the international community has been nothing but complacent as Israelis are targeted by terrorists day after day. I urge the Council to condemn the recent terrorist attacks and denounce the rise in Palestinian incitement.

I should be grateful if you would have this letter distributed as an official document of the Security Council. I wish to inform you that an identical letter has been sent to H.E. Mr. Ban Ki-moon, Secretary-General of the United Nations. Please accept, Excellency, the assurance of my highest consideration.

    Yours truly,

    Ron Prosor
    Ambassador
    Permanent Representative
