Tikkun Olam Make-a-thon (TOM), is a global community of makers that want to make the world a better place.

This initiative aims to develop products that answer challenges presented by real people, and  to meet the needs of those in extreme poverty in developing and developed countries.

The First ever TOM event took place in Nazareth, with participants hailing from seven countries including Israel, the U.S., Argentina, Chile, India and Singapore. Participants were selected from more than 200 applicants from around the world.

    The upcoming TOM event:
    TOM:TLV - March 17-19 2015 in Tel Aviv, Israel

TOM:TLV is a 72-hour makeathon dedicated to the needs of people living with disabilities, enabling them to integrate better in the community. Thus, while previous events focused on individual needs, this time the event will focus on the challenge - not only to look for ways in which a person with special needs can easily make coffee at home, but products that help to integrate him into the community, find a job, sit with friends in cafes, stroll the streets etc.

See you there! More information on the TOM website.

Tikkun Olam (Hebrew: תיקון עולם‎) is a Hebrew phrase that means "repairing the world". In its modern context, it has come to be associated with social good and seeks to bring together a fractured humanity. TOM proudly accepts this challenge and calls for the collaboration of individuals in order to help make the world a better place than the one we found.
