Slovakian President Kiska visits Rambam Health Care Campus in Haifa

    Slovakian President Andrej Kiska, this morning (Monday, 27 March 2017), visited Rambam Health Care Campus in Haifa. With him was a delegation of 50 prominent politicians, government officials, business men, and journalists. The visit was an initiative of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
     
    During the visit the delegation met with Rambam's executive leadership. Rambam Director and CEO Professor Rafi Beyar gave an overview of Rambam's activities as the tertiary referral hospital of northern Israel, with an emphasis on trauma treatment, cutting edge research, technology, and medical innovation.
     
    After the presentation the delegation, led by President, Kiska went on a tour of some of the hospital facilities. First came a visit to the Ruth Rappaport Children’s Hospital where they met with Professor Myriam Ben-Arush, director of Rambam’s Pediatric Division, hospital staff, and a few of the hospitalized children. President Kiska expressed interest in the pediatric cancer treatments provided at the Joan and Sanford Weill Division of Pediatric Hematology-Oncology. President Kiska also visited, and was deeply impressed by, the Sammy Ofer Fortified Underground Emergency Hospital.
