Twenty Israeli technology companies were chosen from 60 that applied to take part in a unique Future Sport2015 roadshow in London. The delegation was organized by the Israeli Foreign Trade Administration's trade mission in London and the Israel Export Institute. The expo seeks to combine Israeli tech and innovation with the UK's substantial sports industry.

The Future Sport2015 delegation will be in Britain on March 24-26 and will visit the offices of the UK's most significant sports organizations - football clubs, stadia and broadcast networks. The Israeli companies will present key players in the British sports industry with technologies that can benefit the British sports institutions. The roadshow will begin with a Future Sports Innovation Day in London, where companies will present to the audience and hold one-on-one business meetings with potential partners.

Nathan Tsror, the Economic Attaché to the UK for the Israel Foreign Trade Administration, said: "Previous activities in the Future Israel events have led to cooperation between Israeli and British companies, with two examples being the cooperation between Maretyze, a company analyzing e-Commerce, and the international retail store Carphone Warehouse, and between Israeli startup Cimagine, developing virtual reality technologies, and the British web store Shop Direct. Our initiative in sports is a unique model for promoting Israeli exports in Britain and we are excited to see how Future Sport 2015 will create business opportunities for Israeli companies, similar to those achieved in previous Future Israel events."

Lee Aviram-Shoshani, Director of the New Media Division at the Israel Export Institute, said: "Israeli hi-tech companies, renowned for their innovation, are developing diverse technologies that apply to all aspects of life. The great number of applicants for the competition testifies to a wide sector of technological developments with solutions for the world of sports - whether for fans, players, teams or broadcasters."

On January 19, 2015, six sports experts arrived at the Israeli Embassy in London to assess dozens of Israeli companies competing for a place on the Future Sport2015 delegation. The judges in the competition included: Lord David Triesman, former chairman of the British Football Association, Terry Venables, former Manager of the English National Team, Jonathan Lenson, Business Development Director at WPP advertising, Mike Hodgson, Head of Innovation Engagement at British Telecom, Daniel Shakhani, Chief Executive and Founder at RDS Capital and Frank Meehan, Founding Partner at Sparklabs Global. The panel chose 20 diverse and innovative companies with technologies such as player performance analysis, wireless broadcasting, injury prevention, fan engagement, interactivity, ticket sales and more, selected according to originality and compatibility with the British market.

According to the Foreign Trade Administration at the Israeli Ministry of Economy, trade with Britain stood at $5.7 billion during 2014, of which $4 billion came from exports - a 2% rise compared to 2013 and a 10% rise compared to 2012.
