In the first attack, which took place around noon Israel time (November 10), a Palestinian attacked an IDF soldier at Tel Aviv's HaHagana train station, stabbed him multiple times and unsuccessfully attempted to steal his weapon. The solider, Sgt. Almog Shilony, 20, of Modi'in, was evacuated in critical condition to the Tel HaShomer Sheba Medical Center, where he later died of multiple wounds to his stomach and chest. Two other people were injured in the attack.

Tel Aviv police arrested the terrorist in a building near the site of the attack. The attacker has been identified as an 18-year-old Palestinian from Nablus who entered Israel illegally from the West Bank.

At about 4:30 pm, a young woman was killed and two people injured in a second attack at a bus stop at the Alon Shvut junction, located in the Gush Etzion area south of Jerusalem.

According to media reports, the Palestinian terrorist deliberately aimed his minivan at a bus stop near the entrance to Alon Shvut. When his car struck a cement post placed to prevent such attacks, the terrorist stepped out of the car, stabbing and killing Dalia Lemkus, 26, of Tekoa. He continued his knife attack, injuring two other people.

The terrorist, from Hebron, is affiliated with Islamic Jihad and previously served a five-year prison sentence for throwing Molotov cocktails. He was shot by a security guard and is being treated in an Israeli hospital.

The attack occurred near the intersection where three teenage boys were abducted and killed last June.


Prime Minister Netanyahu: "The terrorism against us knows no borders. It is aimed at all parts of the country for a simple reason. The terrorists and those who incite to it want to get rid of us wherever we are. As far as they're concerned, we don't need to be in Tel Aviv, Jerusalem or anywhere else."

Following security consultations, the Prime Minister ordered that a series of steps be taken against terrorists including increasing the number of security forces on the ground and moving forward on the demolition of terrorists' homes.
