In the past few days, the Israel Security Agency and IDF forces have uncovered an Islamic Jihad terrorist cell which planned to carry out a terrorist bombing in the upcoming days, by using an explosive belt, in an Israeli community in Gush Katif.

So far, four members of the cell have been arrested, two of whom planned to carry out the bombings. Three of the terrorists live in Muassi and the other in Khan Yunis.

On the afternoon of August 17, 2005, security forces uncovered an explosive belt weighing approximately 10 kg., which was meant to be used by the terrorists and was which hidden inside a solar water heater, that had been transferred from Khan Yunis to Muassi.

This cell was also responsible for the digging of a terrorist tunnel, uncovered a month ago, which was meant to reach Neve Dekalim.
