April 2011 has seen a decrease in the number of attacks compared to March: 101 attacks, as opposed to 128 attacks in March 2011. Despite the decrease, this is a rather high number of attacks compared to late 2010-early 2011 (December 2010: 74; January 2011: 83; February 2011: 61).

The decrease in the number of attacks is prominent in the Jerusalem area (16 attacks compared to 42 in March) and in the Judea and Samaria (19 attacks compared to 36 in March).

Despite the decrease, two Israelis were killed in the Judea and Samaria area during April - one was killed in Jenin on April 4, another was killed near Joseph's Tomb in Nablus on April 24, and six Israelis were injured in this incident.

At the same time, there has been an increase in Gaza-based attacks: 66 attacks (as opposed to 50 in March) due to the increase in rocket launchings against Israel. Another significant incident in April was the launching from Gaza of an AT rocket towards a school bus near Nahal Oz. The outcome of the launching was one Israeli fatality - a 16 year old boy - and one casualty (April 7).
