    (Communicated by the IDF Spokesman)

Following the continuous Palestinian terror activity directed at Israeli citizens and civilian infrastructure, and the firing of projectile rockets from the Gaza Strip at Israeli communities, the IDF targeted a structure used for the manufacturing and storage of rockets in the city of Gaza early this morning, June 7th 2006. The structure is part of the weaponry manufacturing infrastructure operated by the Popular Resistance Committees terror organization. The IDF also targeted several access routes in the northern Gaza Strip. The objective of targeting these access routes is to prevent the passage of terrorists to projectile rocket launching grounds, and to disrupt their repeated attempts to fire rockets at Israel.

The Palestinian Authority is fully responsible for any attacks emanating from its territory. Unfortunately, it continues to take no action in order to prevent terror attacks against Israeli citizens, which are carried out on a daily basis. In the past 24 hours alone thirteen rockets have been launched at Israel, one of which hit a house in the city of Sderot and landed in a youth's bed, another landed in a gasoline station compound. An Israeli citizen was wounded from yesterday's attacks and extensive damage was caused to civilian infrastructure.
