The following has been cleared for publication:

Ahmed Magdi Muhamad Abid, born 1994, a resident of Shuja'iyya in the Gaza strip, a Hamas militant, was arrested end of September 2017 while crossing the border into Israeli territory.

The interrogation by the Israel Security Agency (ISA) and Israel Police revealed that Ahmed Abid was recruited to the Hamas organization in 2013. During his activity in Hamas he underwent military training in engineering, sniping and anti-tank weapons. It was further revealed that he took part in digging tunnels near where he lived and served as an activist for Hamas’s border guards.

Considerable information regarding Hamas's tunnel structure in the Gaza Strip was received during his interrogation, including both attack tunnels leading into Israel and defensive tunnels designed for fighting IDF forces inside the Strip.

Ahmed Abid's interrogation unveiled once again Hamas's terror tunnel activity designed to promote terrorism against the state of Israel.

On 23 October 2017 a severe indictment was filed at the Be’er Sheva District Court attributing Abid severe security offenses.
