The world is being victimized by an epidemic of terrorism - from the 9/11 attacks and the USS Cole bombing in Yemen to murderous kidnappings in the Philippines and bombings in Kenya, Bali, and Saudi Arabia. Islamic terrorism is no longer a Middle East threat, but rather a global threat to all countries. More threatening, is that this threat has become a reality in many countries and has been gaining momentum and members over the years.

While Hamas operates locally, it is part of the the ‘global jihadist threat’ and is connected globally to terrorist organizations and Islamic terrorism. Its practices and operations are designed to spread terror.

Islamic terrorism has occurred globally, in countless countries in Europe, the Americas, Africa, and the Middle East. Islamic terrorist organizations have been known to engage in tactics including suicide attacks, bombings, spree killings, hijackings, and kidnappings.

The threat posed by such organizations, collectively and on a global level, can be described as the most potent threat to the security and stability of nations today, both Western and non-Western.

Today, one of the most striking elements of the terror threat is the role of recruits from democratic countries in planning attacks on their once home-soil. These recruits together with the veteran Islamic extremists receive material support, training, weapons, and guidance from terror-sponsoring countries.

  • Iran: Exporter of global terrorism

  •
Iran is an active state-sponsor of terrorism and funds and provides equipment, weapons and training to Islamic terrorists. Iran exports its radical revolutionary ideology through providing weapons, money, training, and other support to terrorist and insurgent groups across the Middle East. On 5 March 2014, the IDF intercepted the KLOS-C in the Red Sea. Inspection revealed Iranian funded M-302 rockets, mortar shells and ammunition, which intelligence stated was to be delivered to Hamas and PIJ. Had the shipment not been intercepted these rockets would now be targeting Israel with warheads which can destroy whole buildings.
