The following has been cleared for publication:

On 4 March 2018, Shfaram resident Malek Yusef Nahar Assadi (born in 1992), carried out a vehicular attack at several locations in Acre wounding a Border Policeman, two IDF soldiers and a civilian. Assadi was arrested at one of the scenes after having been shot by a passing soldier.

An Israel Security Agency investigation has now determined that Assadi acted for nationalistic-ideological motives.

The State Attorney's office (Haifa district) today (Thursday, 29 March 2018), indicted Assadi for attempted murder in the course of an act of terrorism, as defined under the Anti-terrorism Ordinance.
