On October 14, 2014, Israel transferred construction materials to the Gaza Strip in order to facilitate rehabilitation projects. The supplies are expected to include 600 tons of cement, 50 trucks of construction aggregates and 10 trucks of metal.

In accordance to the agreement reached by the Coordinator of Government Activities in the Territories (COGAT), Major General, Yoav Poli Mordechai, the transfer will be supervised and managed by a mechanism led by UN officials and representatives of the Palestinian Authority and coordinated on behalf of Israel by COGAT. The mechanism will guarantee that the building supplies will be used for renovation of homes and public establishments for the benefit of the citizens of the Gaza Strip, while at the same time safeguard the security of the State of Israel.

The supervision and management mechanism includes a detailed program of the distribution of construction materials, equipment and professionals to whom the supplies will be transferred. The mechanism also includes UN inspectors that will oversee and inspect the construction sites.

In addition, in the coming weeks Israel will facilitate the export of agricultural goods from Gaza to Judea and Samaria.

The first transfer will include 15 tons of agricultural products, mostly dates and sweet potatoes, and over time additional products will be transferred, such as fish and other agricultural produce.
