Gaza Strip land crossings weekly status report 13-18 Feb 2011

    This week, 1087 truckloads (28,788 tons) of goods entered the Gaza Strip via the crossings, in addition to exports from the Gaza Strip.

    General
      Overall, 1,097 truckloads (28,788 tons) were unloaded at the crossings.
      Kerem Shalom crossing was closed on Tuesday due to construction work conducted at the crossing as part of the plan to expand the crossing capacity. The crossing operated on Friday instead.
      
    Erez crossing

    23% increase in the number of people that crossed through the Erez crossing

    198 international organization staff members entered Israel.
    164 international organization staff members entered the Gaza Strip.
    385 patients and accompanying individuals crossed into Israel and the West Bank.

    Kerem Shalom
    2.64% increase in the number of truckloads delivered into the Gaza Strip

    779 truckloads (16,372 tons) were imported to the Gaza Strip.
    576 tons of cooking gas was transferred.
    The Palestinian Authority stopped ordering fuel for the power plant as of the second week in January.

    Karni Conveyor
    50% increase in the number of truckloads delivered into the Gaza Strip

    308 truckloads (12,416 tons) were imported to the Gaza Strip.

    Exports
    10 truckloads were exported from the Gaza Strip this week including:
    6 truckloads of flowers and 4 truckloads of strawberries.  

    Private sector vs. international organizations
    931 truckloads of goods were imported by the private sector , while 156 truckloads were transferred to the international organizations operating in Gaza.
