An Israeli Film Director is in Cameroon

    ‘‘Ambassador of Israeli Culture to Cameroon’’.
     
    Bilateral relations linking Israel and Cameroon focus also on cultural exchanges. Within the framework of the Cameroon International Film Festival '' CAMIFF '' which take place from 24th to 29th April 2017 in Buea, Festival which promotes Film and Cinema through education and exhibition; The Embassy of Israel in Cameroon has been honored to welcome Mrs. Dvorit SHARGAL, Israeli Director, whose film '' Africa ! SIA LIVES ON THE KILIMANJARO'' has been shown during this Festival.
    However, on the sidelines of this Festival, the University of Yaoundé 1 wished to disseminate this cinematographic work among the students and interested and engaged public in this field of study at the University, in particular those of the Faculty of Arts Letters and Human Sciences.
     
    After the screening of the film, the students and the public exchanged with the Director and this permitted students to acquired knowledge in this field of studies.
    For Mrs. Dvorit SHARGAL who consider herself as an Ambassador of the Israeli culture, this Documentary film is a nostalgic, fascinating and unavoidable Journey into the heart of the book series: ‘‘Children of the World’’. ‘‘Where is SIA?’’ from the book SIA lives on the Kilimanjaro of 1957? What happened to her since? What does SIA think about the book she wrote? And how did Africa changed in half a century? These are some of the questions that this film is answering.
     
    The second screening of the Film took place at ‘‘ATELIER 4’’ which is a Cultural platform in Yaounde where Artists from every field of Arts and from everywhere in Cameroon can perform and work to promote his art. The public who responded to this screening was not at all bored because the Film captivated their attention and was appreciated until the end. Exchanges with the Director concerned her vision about the condition of the African woman, difficulties encountered and the future prospects.
