Congratulations to "Shalo-um chan", Our embassy's official "Yuru" character!!!
The winner of our official "Yuru" character contest finally announced at an awards ceremony.
Out of nearly 500 applications that were received in the first stage of the competition, 50 of the characters qualified to the semi-finals of the competition, strictly chosen by the popular votes of our Facebook followers.
At that point, we decided to add a special committee of judges, all well-known and unbiased, to help us add a professional dimension to the project.
By that, we set two criteria's for choosing the winners: Popularity and Professionalism.
10 characters have qualified to the final stage of the competition, 5 of them were chosen by the popular vote on our Facebook page, and 5 by the special judging committee.
Since one of the finalists asked to resign from the competition, we decided to respect the request, and so the results below are addressing to 9 finalists.
The winners of the competition were also chosen by a compilation of the popular votes on Facebook and the judges' votes. Since we have 4 judges, together with the ranking of our Facebook followers, we decided to give everyone the same weight in the decision: 20%.
The final rankings were calculated by the following scoring system: From each of the judges decisions, 1st place got 12 points, 2nd place got 10 points, 3rd place 8 points, 4th place 7 points, 5th place 6 points and so on.
