Ambassador Hoffman is an academic and public figure. He was a lecturer at the Reichman University in Herzliya and taught courses in diplomacy, foreign policy, conflict management, and political negotiations.
He was also co-founder of the International Policy Institute for Counter-Terrorism at IDC Herzliya.
Ambassador Hoffman was a Member of the Nineteenth Knesset during that time he was a Member of the Defense and Foreign Affairs Committee, Chairman of the Sub-committee on Foreign Policy and Public Diplomacy, Chairman of lsrael-Canada lnter-parliamentary Friendship Association, and Member of the Economic Affairs Committee.
Ambassador Hoffman was the advisor to the Minister of Defense on International and Political Affairs. He was the Member of the lsraeli Delegation to peace negotiations with Syria in 2000 and actively participated in the peace negotiations, coordinated pre-negotiation staff work, and formulated policy papers and reports on the peace talks.
Ambassador Hoffman obtained a B.A. in Political Science from Tel Aviv University and a Ph.D. from Kings College London in the Department of War Studies.
