Ambassador Boker’s Biography
Ambassador Ze’ev Boker presented his credentials to the President of Ireland, Michael D. Higgins, on November 5th 2015. He is Israel’s sixth Ambassador to Ireland since the establishment of Israel’s mission in Dublin in 1994.
Ambassador Boker was born and raised on Kibbutz Afek in the North of Israel. He graduated with a Masters in Political Science (cum laude) from the Hebrew University (Jerusalem). Ambassador Boker joined the Ministry of Foreign Affairs as a cadet in 1987. He served as Israel’s first-resident Ambassador to the Slovak Republic from 2006 – 2010. Ambassador Boker has also served as Deputy Head of Mission in Israel’s embassies in Czechoslovakia (1990-1993) and the Hague (1997-2003). Ambassador Boker was a Deputy Diplomatic Advisor to the late Prime Minister, Yitzhak Rabin. He has held several posts within the Ministry of Foreign Affairs including Director of the International Relations Department 2 and Director of the South East Europe Department.
Ambassador Boker is married with three children.
As Israel’s Ambassador to Ireland, Ambassador Boker works to strengthen the positive links between Ireland and Israel in the political, economic, educational and cultural spheres, and to build on the many parallels that exist between the two countries.
