Die Universitäten in Israel sind autonom. Deshalb gibt es kein einheitliches Zulassungsverfahren. Einige Hochschulen verlangen zusätzlich zur Hochschulzugangsberechtigung eine Eignungsprüfung. Studienplatzbewerber müssen die Frage der Zulassungsbedingungen mit der Hochschule ihrer Wahl klären. Grundsätzlich ist der Zugang zu Studiengängen, für die es in der Bundesrepublik Deutschland Zulassungsbeschränkungen gibt, auch an israelischen Hochschulen erschwert. Dies gilt darüber hinaus für die ingenieurwissenschaftlichen Fachrichtungen.

Für Absolventen deutscher Hochschulen bieten die israelischen Universitäten gute Fortbildungsmöglichkeiten an.

In der Regel sind deutsche Studienbewerber mit einem Zeugnis über die allgemeine Hochschulreife zur Aufnahme eines Universitätsstudiums in Israel berechtigt. Inhaber mit Zeugnissen der Fachhochschulreife können in Israel nicht studieren, weil es dort  keine den deutschen Fachhochschulen vergleichbaren Bildungseinrichtungen gibt. Inwieweit ein Zeugnis der fachgebundenen Hochschulreife zum Studium berechtigt, entscheiden die israelischen Universitäten von Fall zu Fall.

Der Nachweis guter Englisch- bzw. Hebräischkenntnisse muss erbracht werden. Israelische Universitäten bieten in den vorlesungsfreien Wochen vor Beginn eines Studienjahres Sprachkurse in Neuhebräisch sowie in Englisch an. Welche Sprachkenntnisse an welcher Universität für das Studium welcher Fachrichtung erforderlich sind, muss bei der jeweiligen Universität erfragt werden.

Die Dauer eines Studienjahres beträgt neun bzw. zehn Monate (Oktober bis Juni/Juli).
Die Anrechnung deutscher Studien- und Prüfungsleistungen nimmt die jeweilige Universität vor.

 

Der Antrag auf Zulassung muss vor Antritt des Studiums bei der Universität direkt eingereicht werden. Zum Antrag gehören das Zeugnis der Hochschulreife, ein Lebenslauf und die Hochschulzeugnisse.
